West Carleton Electric defeated the Ottawa Valley As 7-2 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play in Fitzroy Harbour on Tuesday night.

Andy Barber had the win, with two innings of relief from Steve Cavanagh. Adam Rueckwald was tagged with the loss, and Todd Wilson saw action in relief for the As.

The upstart Valley As got on the board in the top of the first inning. Steve Frost walked with one out. Lindsay Medynski's sac bunt was then misplayed, to put runners on the corners. After Medynski took second uncontested, Rueckwald's chopper over first scored Frost.

West Carleton responded right away in the bottom of the first as Trevor Barton hit a home run to lead off. 

The second inning for West Carleton was the difference in the game. Shawn Rebertz lead off with a single. Andy Barber then walked. A double by Neil Murphy scored Rebertz, and sacrifice fly from Dave Bahm scored Barber from third. Barton then hit his second homer of the night, this time a two run shot. The chased Rueckwald from the game, bringing in Wilson. Mike Cavanagh's solo homer later in the inning made it 6-1 for Fitzroy.

Ryley Burns hit a solo bomb for Valley to start the fourth inning and make it 6-2.

The Electric capped the scoring in the sixth. Adam Brown hit a single with two out and was replaced on a re-entry by Kevin Shonfield. Shonfield scored on a Mike Cavanagh hit to make it 7-2.
